Victoria Airport Authority Recognized as a Top Employer in B.C.

Victoria Airport Authority (VAA) has been named as one of BC’s Top 100 Employers for 2020.

“We’re proud to receive this recognition,” said Geoff Dickson, VAA President and CEO.  “We work as a team, and being recognized as one of BC’s Top Employers is a direct reflection of the dedication and commitment of VAA staff that built and sustain an exceptional workplace and the employment practices being recognized.”

VAA was selected as one BC’s Top Employers for its training programs and tuition subsidies, on-site fitness facility and 10KM multi-use path on the property and, its support of employees to get involved in the community.  VAA matches charitable donations (up to $5,000), seeks employee feedback on which initiatives to support and allows employees time off to volunteer.  It also fosters teamwork and work-life balance through flexible work schedules and long service recognition.

This year marks the 15^th anniversary of the BC’s Top Employers annual competition, a special designation that recognizes employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.  Employers were evaluated by the editors at Canada’s Top 100 Employers and evaluated based on: Physical Workplace; Work Atmosphere & Social; Health, Financial & Family Benefits; Vacation & Time Off; Employee Communications; Performance Management; Training & Skills Development; and Community Involvement. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
