Victoria International Airport Offers Gift Wrapping in Support of Victoria Mustard Seed and Victoria Hospice
Dec 6, 2012
The Victoria International Airport is doing a little gift wrapping this holiday season as an additional service to holiday travellers as well as to help two very important charitable organizations.
Holidays are the busiest times at airports and the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) recommends air travellers not wrap their gifts as their contents may need to be inspected. So, this year the airport will test its gift wrapping skills by offering a complimentary wrapping service post security for those passengers travelling within Canada or to non-stop destinations within the United States or Mexico.
Donations will be accepted in support of Victoria Mustard Seed and the Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation. The Mustard Seed is a non-profit organization fighting hunger and restoring faith in Greater Victoria and Victoria Hospice holds a special significance for a long-time Commissionaire and resident “Santa” at Victoria International Airport Chief Warrant Officer Al Paterson.
“We’re delighted to offer this service for our passengers and be able to help two such valuable community resources with this initiative,” said Geoff Dickson, President and CEO of the Victoria Airport Authority.
Airport staff and Red Coat Volunteers will provide the service from December 17 – 23 between 12:00 – 2:00 in the Lower Passenger Departure Lounge.
In addition to our holiday gift wrapping service this year, we'll also be hosting the following choir performances in the Arrivals Rotunda:
December 13th
Mount Douglas School
12:00 – 12:45 pm
December 17th
Strawberry Vale
12:00 – 12:45 pm
December 19th
Ecole Marigold
12:15 – 1:00
