Construction Begins to Realign Willingdon Road

Construction work has begun to realign Willingdon Road to the south and west including the addition of a traffic roundabout.

This work, identified in the 2007 Master Plan of the Victoria Airport Authority is the first major phase in the execution of our Air Terminal Building (ATB) Area Parking and Roads Master Plan.  The project will relocate Willingdon Road to the South and west of its present alignment to provide the necessary additional space required to expand our long term parking facilities over the next decade.

The project will also create a roundabout at the exit from the ATB ring road onto Willingdon Road providing needed improvements for managing both airport traffic as well as through traffic for the next ten years.

Traffic flow to the Air Terminal Building and Willingdon Road West will be maintained and there are no anticipated delays. Changes to traffic patterns will begin on Monday October 24th to accommodate connection of the new road alignment with the existing road. For details of these changes, please click here (PDF).
