Airport Authority calls for Expressions of Interest from Artists

The Victoria Airport Authority (VAA) is calling for Expressions of Interest from Artists residing on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands for a major work of public art for the Victoria International Airport Departures area. The selected work of art will celebrate the spirit of life and engage public imagination. Consideration will be given to work that is free standing, wall-mounted, multi-media, suspended or surface mounted, and is appropriate to the space. The work will have universal appeal and be public scale in scope.

Artists are encouraged to attend a public information meeting scheduled for Tuesday February 15, 2005 at 7:00 PM in the Third Floor Observation Lounge of the Air Terminal Building.

Artists are invited to submit Expressions of Interest consisting of a statement of interest and artistic qualifications, including a resume with photographs and descriptions of former work.

The deadline for Expressions of Interest is April 1, 2005.
