The Victoria Airport Authority Board of Directors, at their meeting of 24th of November 2003, approved $11.2 million funding for renovation and expansion of Victoria's Terminal Building Departures Area. Included in this amount is a contribution from the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA).
Richard Paquette, President and CEO of the Authority, said he was delighted to receive Board approval to proceed with the final stage of the Terminal Expansion Project. Paquette said the Victoria Airport Authority is working with its' Airline Partners to include all the latest technology for expedited passenger check-in.
When the renovation is complete, the Departures Area will be bright and open with the same look and feel as the first phase of the project. Paquette said the Terminal Building Project that was begun in November 2000 has transformed the Airport Terminal Building into an award winning community asset that we can all be proud of.
Tom Moore, Moore Paterson Architects, and Darcy Kray, Durwest Construction Management, will continue as the project's architect and construction management team.
