A host of officials, including representatives of the Victoria Airport Authority and ZIP Airlines were on hand to inaugurate the new daily service to Calgary and then onto Winnipeg and Ottawa.  ZIP's schedule includes daily service Monday thru Saturday from Victoria to Calgary/Winnipeg/Ottawa.   Sunday service offers three departures from Victoria going to Calgary, Winnipeg, and Ottawa.

Festivities included cake and flowers for travelers as well as baggage tags and pins bearing ZIP's colourful logo.

ZIP is Air Canada's  new low fare, high value airline headquartered in Calgary.

The service will be operated using a Boeing 737 aircraft with a 117-seat configuration.
