Now Arriving:Easier Parking

February 18, 2004

Victoria Airport Authority will be changing the parking system at Victoria International Airport.

In an effort to improve parking at the Victoria International Airport, on March 10, 2004, the Victoria Airport Authority will unveil a new parking system in both the short and long-term parking lots. The new system will enable short-term visitors to pay at the entrance of the short-term lot. Visitors will no longer have to get out of their cars to get a ticket.

Cost for parking in the short-term lot will be $2.00 for two hours. Coins and major credit cards will be accepted. The Authority has installed an intercom system so visitors can talk directly with a booth attendant should they have any questions or concerns. Parking lot attendants will be on site throughout the first two weeks to assist our visitors.

Under the new scheme, long-term visitors will pay for parking when they exit the long-term economy lot. The cost for long-term parking will be $10.00 a day for the first five days and $4.00 a day for each subsequent day. Both short and long-term lots will be patrolled.

The Victoria Airport Authority believes these changes will make parking more secure and user-friendly. "We are committed to a higher standard and believe these changes will improve our visitors' airport experience," says Richard Paquette, President & CEO.
