Victoria Airport Rated in Top 10 of Most Loved Airports in the World!
Nov 23, 2011
Victoria International Airport has been ranked 8th in a CNNGo poll ranking the 10 most loved airports in the world!
The poll was conducted by CNNGo and facilitated through Facebook. CNNGo's (www.cnngo.com) website was launched in 2009 and highlights many international cities covering lifestyle and travel.
First place went to Hong Kong International Airport and Victoria was placed 8th nicely between Zurich Airport in Switzerland and Montevideo Carrasco in Uruguay. CNNGo in their article said "Canada's favourite little airport has earned its stripes on a reputation for ease, efficiency and friendliness, along with some value added quirks that no other airport in the world would ever bother to think about." "Like, for example, hosting a special 'chocolatier' exhibit and unveiling a 2.5 kilometer bike path around the perimeter."
"We are obviously thrilled and honoured to be recognized by such key international media as CNN. This type of recognition from airport users is a direct reflection of our commitment to providing our customers with the best airport experience we can. Ease and function combined with friendly service is always a top priority and this recognition is shared with everyone who works to provide courteous service to our passengers on a day to day basis. This includes our Red Coat Host Volunteers, our Commissionaires and security staff, Victoria Airport Authority (VAA) staff, and all of our airline and concession business partners. This kind of achievement can only be reached as a group. It also shows that bigger is not necessarily better" comments Geoff Dickson, VAA President & CEO.
Victoria is the only Canadian airport that made this top 10 list.
