At Victoria, we would suggest the following:
For a domestic flight, you should arrive at the airport no later than 1.5 hours before departure time.
For a transborder flight, you should arrive at the airport no later than 2 hours before departure time.
For an International flight, you should arrive at the airport no later than 2 hours before departure time.
Due to security regulations set in place by Transport Canada, Victoria International Airport (VIA) does not have storage facilities at this time. Also, for liability purposes the Victoria Airport Authority (VAA) does not hold items for passengers at the airport.
Flights within Canada:
At the boarding gate, a passenger must present:
Two (2) pieces of government issued non-photo identification with matching names as long as at least one piece also includes the date of birth and gender; or
One (1) piece of government issued identification with photo showing the name, date of birth and gender.
For all flights outside of Canada, passengers must carry a valid passport.

Victoria International Airport is open from 3:00am to 1:00 am. However if a flight is late in arriving the airport will stay open to accommodate the late arrival.
If it is necessary for a passenger to stay overnight in the terminal, they must contact someone from security and let them know. Security can be reached at 250-953-7511.
Currently, CATSA, Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, is responsible for passenger pre-board screening at the Victoria Internationa Airport and airports across Canada. For information about prohibited items we recommend that you browse the CATSA website.
You will need to let your airline know at the time of booking that you will require wheelchair assistance.The airlines have wheelchairs readily accessible just inside the Departures doors upon entering the terminal building for your convenience.
If you are unable to find someone from your airline to assist you upon arriving to the airport, you may contact our Security department at 250-953-7511 and ask if a commissionaire would be able to meet you curb front.
Another option that passengers may utilize is a company called ‘Driving Miss Daisy’. They offer reliable and safe accompaniment/companion services and possess all the legislated insurance requirements as required in British Columbia. They can pick up, drop off and accompany you through to gate departure if required. The airline will be able to issue them an escort pass if their assistance is required beyond pre-board screening.

Victoria International Airport does not currently have a U.S. Pre-Clearance Facility so travellers will clear both U.S. Customs and Immigration upon arrival into the United States.

We kindly request that you say hello or goodbye to your pets outside of the terminal building as pets are not allowed in the airport terminal if they are not contained in a kennel or pet container. Please respect this policy, especially considering the number of people who suffer from severe allergies.
Service animals and animals travelling with their owners are permitted inside the Airport Terminal Building. Animals must be under the control of their owners at all times and must be on a leash or in a travelling container at all times.
Smoking is only permitted at the sheltered area in the Short Term parking lot located at the Arrivals end of the air terminal building.
