At Victoria, we would suggest the following:

For a domestic flight, you should arrive at the airport no later than 1 hour before departure time.

For a transborder flight, you should arrive at the airport no later than 1.5 hours before departure time.

For an International flight, you should arrive at the airport no later than 2 hours before departure time.

Currently, CATSA, Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, is responsible for passenger pre-board screening at the Victoria Internationa Airport and airports across Canada. For information about prohibited items we recommend that you browse the CATSA website.

Victoria International Airport does not currently have a U.S. Pre-Clearance Facility so travellers will clear both U.S. Customs and Immigration upon arrival into the United States.

Unfortunately for security reasons, the Victoria International Airport does not provide luggage storage at the airport. 

One option may be Peninsula Mini Storage, located just off the airport property. They offer an option for short-term rentals. Their office is open Monday to Saturday, from 9 AM to 5 PM. They can be contacted as follows:

Please keep in mind that you would need to retrieve your luggage before the end of business hours, and you would need your own transportation to these locations as they are located off airport lands.

Yes. BC Transit signigicantly increased service to and from the terminal building at Victoria International Airport in June 2011. Please visit the Public Transportation section of our website for details.

We kindly request that you say hello or goodbye to your pets outside of the terminal building as pets are not allowed in the airport terminal if they are not contained in a kennel or pet container.  Please respect this policy, especially considering the number of people who suffer from severe allergies.

Service animals and animals travelling with their owners are permitted inside the Airport Terminal Building.  Animals must be under the control of their owners at all times and must be on a leash or in a travelling container at all times.

Smoking is only permitted at the end of the departures curb and across the crosswalk from the arrivals curb.  Cigarette butt receptacles are provided in those locations.
